Elon Musk: Bitcoin on the verge of widespread acceptance by finance
Bitcoin is on the verge of reaching wider adoption in the traditional financial world, according to Elon Musk.
Bitcoin ( BTC ) is on the verge of gaining broader adoption, according to Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, in a clubhouse conversation on Feb.1.
Clubhouse is an exclusive audio chat app and social media platform that is only available to guests who have received an invitation. Members can participate in a variety of conversations, similar to an online private conference.
Elon Musk speaks publicly about Bitcoin
Speaking to Andressen Horowitz and other prominent investors, Musk was asked about his opinion on Bitcoin.
On January 29th, Musk wrote the word „bitcoin“ on his Twitter bio. That made the BTC rate rise by more than 14 percent within 30 minutes .
After the incident, Bitcoin investors and enthusiasts were eager to hear positive comments from Musk about crypto in general.
When asked about Bitcoin , Musk said, according to industry officials who overheard the chat:
„I think bitcoin is a good thing. I am a proponent of bitcoin. I think bitcoin is on the verge of widespread adoption in conventional finance.“
Industry executives were generally positive about Musk’s comment on Bitcoin. James Todar, a partner at Greymatter Capital, said :
„One of the most progressive inventors of our time missed Bitcoin. On Clubhouse @elonmusk was talking about a friend who gave him a cake in the form of a bitcoin in 2013. Although he is ‚late‘, Elon believes that Bitcoin is about to be to be accepted in finance. “
Dan Tapiero, a partner at 10T Holdings, made a similar statement. He said the fact that the richest man in the world is a bitcoin backer „feels good“. Tapiero wrote :
„Somehow it feels good that @elonmusk, a #bitcoin supporter my age, is the richest man in the world. I was fed up with Gates / Buffett / Bezos. Older guys from old tech or no tech and none Bitcoiner. With an iconoclast and a visionary as a role model, there may be hope for Generation Z. „
As Cointelegraph reported , prominent Bitcoin investors like billionaire Tim Draper Musk and his companies like Tesla have asked to accept BTC directly. That would give Bitcoin a massive boost in terms of global awareness.
